Dr. Eduardo Anitua, the founder and scientific director of BTI Biotechnology Institute, has been awarded the Dentist of the Year Prize, given by the Ordinary General Assembly of the General Council of the Spanish School of Dentists.
The award is given to odontologists and stomatologists who stand out thanks to their contribution to the improvement, development and promotion of the profession
Dr. Eduardo Anitua holds a Degree in Medicine and Surgery by the University of Salamanca and is a specialist in Stomatology by the University of the Basque Country. He completed his training and specialisation during various stays in the US (Philadelphia, New York, Miami, San Francisco, Chicago) and Europe (Italy, Germany, France and Spain).
Eduardo Anitua has been in private practise for over 30 years at the clinic that bears his name in Vitoria. This clinic has been a pioneer in many of the treatments that are now used on a day to day basis. Since its creation it has stood out as a centre of excellence equipped with the most advanced technology and is a reference in the field of odontology and surgery.
This Basque researcher is internationally renowned not only because of his high-profile research work on oral implantology and regenerative medicine, but also because of his lectures in institutes around the world. He is the director of the “Continuing Education Program on Oral Implantology and Rehabilitation” offered in sweveral countries.
Eduardo Anitua is the creator of the Plasma Rich in Growth Factors (PRGF®-Endoret®) technique, which makes it possible to regenerate tissues using resources obtained from the patient and which is applied today in differentfields of medicine. His research efforts in the biotechnology sector have been widely acknowledged nationally and internationally.
Dr. Anitua also owns 37 international patents, has written 11 books and has published over 100 research articles. He has given over five hundred courses and lectures on oral implantology and regenerative medicine at national and international conferences (Europe, the US, South America, Asia).
